Football Legends vow to fulfil Osman’s wish
Football Legends Association (FLA) says it will ensure that its departed member Yasin ‘Titch’ Osman’s wish that the body should be self-sustainable is implemented.
The association’s board chair Jim Kalua said this in an interview yesterday.

He said: “He [Osman] kept emphasising the need for us to become self-sustainable so that we meet our key objective of advancing the welfare of football legends.
“That is the best way we can honour ‘Titch’, who was one of our senior members.”
Kalua said Osman often offered them tips on how the association can grow.
The FLA was represented at Osman’s burial ceremony in Bawi, Ntcheu yesterday by a delegation which included second-vice chairperson Justin Saidi, Young Chimodzi, Kinnah Phiri, Spy Msiska, Peterkins Kayira, Lawrence Waya, Gilbert Chirwa, Chancy Gondwe, Rashid Ntelera, Lovemore Fazili, Joseph Kamwendo and Andrew Chikhosi.
Meanwhile, in a statement, the FLA said Osman’s legacy “will forever be etched in our hearts”.
Malawi National Council of Sports, Super League of Malawi (Sulom) and Super League clubs also condoled the bereaved family, Wanderers and the football fraternity in general.
In a statement, Sports Council said: “We are profoundly saddened by the passing of Yasin “Tich” Osman, Malawi’s legendary national team football player, coach, and administrator.
“Yasin’s life, long devotion to the sport, beginning at just 15 years old, shaped generations and elevated football in Malawi. May his extraordinary legacy inspire us all to champion the development of sports with the same unwavering commitment and heart he exemplified.”
In its statement, Sulom said: “The Super League of Malawi conveys its sincere condolences to the Osman family, Mighty Wanderers FC and the entire football fraternity on the passing of Yasin Osman, who until his death was technical director of Mighty Wanderers FC.
“Osman’s contribution to the game of football in Malawi will never be forgotten. His dedication, passion and leadership have left an indelible mark on the sport and will continue to inspire future generations.”
