Freedom Lodge promises more entertainment
Freedom Lodge has promised music lovers in Mulanje and surrounding districts that it will continue hosting live performances.
In an interview on Tuesday, the lodge’s chief executive officer John Mateyu noted that Mulanje and the surrounding districts were lagging behind in entertainment.
On Saturday this week, the Mulanje-based hospitality facility has ‘After Work Hangout’ to be spiced up by live performances by Zembani Band, Mlaka Maliro, Slyc, Sam Smack, Nepman and Amaritili.
Said Mateyu: “We noted that some entertainment lovers were travelling to Blantyre, so I thought we should bring the entertainment closer to people of Mulanje and surrounding areas.
“Apart from the full entertainment cover, we also offer different services such as accommodation and catering which are unique.”
In a separate interview, a Mulanje resident Innocent Makina echoed Mateyu’s sentiments that the district lagged behind in terms of hosting live performances.
He commended Freedom Lodge for taking entertainment closer to Mulanje residents.
“Mulanje is one of the tourist attraction districts, but one thing missing is entertainment and live performances. So, Freedom Lodge’s idea of hosting live performances will help us to save money we spend travelling to other areas seeking for entertainment.”
The lodge was officially opened on December 8 last year. Freedom Executive Lodge manager Milanga Mzeza said that they will also be inviting international artists. She said they are also planning to construct a five star hotel in the district to help boost tourism in the country.
