Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister, I would clearly explain how former president Joyce Banda embarrassed the country during the recent United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in the United States.

If I were bwana Chaponda, I would realise that the former president attended the UNGA on invitation by the organisers.

I would, therefore, realise that JB was not obliged to consult his successor or indeed government, but rather it was the organisers who were supposed to inform Malawi Government, if at all there was need.

How I wish I were the Foreign Affairs Minister because I would realise that I am just trying to build a mountain out of molehill because there is no need to make a fuss out of this issue. Ndi za ziii! zopanda ndi mchere omwe, bwana!

Perhaps, if I were Hon. Chaponda, I would also appreciate that having ceased to be the president of the country, JB is just an ordinary person and, therefore, is not supposed to inform government about every trip she makes, unless of course, if there is need to do so.

I would also realise, if I were Chaponda, that the fact that there were government representatives in the meetings where Amayi addressed delegates did not prove how she embarrassed the country.

That is if only I were one George Chaponda. Unfortunately, I am not the Foreign Affairs Minister.
