Ghanaian Afro-pop star Derrick Abbey Thomson, popularly known as Jaytomson, has finally arrived in the country for a final performance of the AfriGiants Entertainment music shows.

AfriGiants Entertainment is an international grouping of African artists and currently manages six artists from different countries.

The group was founded early this year by Malawi’s DJ Scarper and its first international music performances was scheduled for Malawi from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at the Dorvic Hotel in Blantyre.

However, Jaytomson and another foreign artist from Uganda, Anecho Edward aka Blazy, did not make it to both shows. According to DJ Scarper, Blazy lost his father last Sunday while Jaytomson had failed to clear his visa on time.

The Ghanaian arrived on Saturday afternoon at Kamuzu International Airport. Upon arrival, the artist was driven straight to Europa Wakawaka in Lilongwe where he gave the patrons a brief taste of his quality during the launch of DJ Scraper’s P3 mixtape.

Jaytomson performed alongside Nyasa Queens. His official show will be on New Year’s Eve at the Portuguese Club in Lilongwe.

Speaking upon his arrival, Jaytomson said he is happy to step on Malawi soils and promised fireworks when on stage.

“I feel great to be here in Malawi for the first time. I have heard about the peace in the country and I am happy to be in the country. It is a beautiful atmosphere and the people are lovely. I am geared for the December 31 show,” he said, while apologising to Blantyre fans for not making it to the shows.

Jaytomson, who has featured in several international music shows across the globe, said he will organise a special trip for Blantyre fans next year.
