Gwamba in 2nd album launch

One year after releasing his debut album, hip-hop artist Gwamba will this month drop his highly anticipated sophomore album.

Titled ChakosiChanga, the 12-track album will be launched at the Lilongwe Golf Club on Sunday.

The new album brings in a different Gwamba, according to the artist.

“The first album was all about selling myself to music lovers and the second one is all about the experience I have gotten, which has resulted in knowledge and more mature music,” he said in an interview.

He also said the album has been recorded at different studios to being in variety.

“It has been recorded at Soul Rebel, BFB, Dare Devils and DJ Sley because I want to bring in diversity. Something that is uniquely synonymous with me but appeals to a wide range of artists at the same time,” explained Gwamba, who was recently was awarded the Artist of the Year accolade at the Urban Music Party.

So far, the artist has released two singles as part of the promotion of the album.

IneyowaLero, which features Lulu, was the first and later on its video came out. The second single Munthumusic video be out Monday [today] and on Friday, I will release the third and last single Karate, which I did with Kell Kay,” he said.

The launch will see artists like Lucius Banda, Nepman and Lulu, among others curtain raising for Gwamba who plans to take the album to Blantyre on December 19, before a national tour.

Gwamba launched his first album KudutsaPakhomain October last year and the response has been overwhelming, he says.

“It has been so awe-inspiring and I must be honest I got so many deals from it which some still stand until today. I have been surviving on it and still I am. Many people have known me because of the album,” he explained.
