If I were
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, I would issue a public apology on behalf of my ministry for publishing a wrong list of students who scored between six and 15 points in the 2012 Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examination.
If I were Chide, I would appreciate that the information was misleading to the nation.
How I wish I were the ministry’s spokesperson, because I would realise the need to correct the situation because it is bound to create confusion.
I would further realise that the development caused pain and damage to other sectors, notably private school owners.
If only I were Chide, I surely would accept the reality that my ministry goofed big time; hence, the need to apologise.
I would further realise the need for my ministry to cross-check the information before releasing it to the public.
That is if I were the spokesperson for Education Ministry. Unfortunately, I am not her.
