Atany Kaipa will be the torch-bearer for the four-member Blantyre and Districts Darts League (BDDL) team at the Champions of Champions Tournament in Lilongwe in September after winning the Deekay Suppliers contest at Moth Club in Blantyre last Sunday.

Kaipa, who outsmarted 49 contestants, including defending champion Steve Mnjere, to win the Deekay Suppliers contest, will lead his runner-up Derrick Beckie, third-placed Kondwani Kachala and fourth-placed Nyagome Nyopola to the national encounters.

The Elvis Freight Darts Club player said he will not disappoint at the national event, which has been dominated by Lilongwe and Districts Darts League (LDDL) players.

“This is time to end Lilongwe players’ dominance. I will make sure the national trophy comes to Blantyre,” said Kaipa.

Darts Association of Malawi (DAM) vice-president Duncan Karim, who watched last weekend’s BDDL games, said Kaipa is capable of turning the tables in Lilongwe.
