Blantyre-based musician Khuzah Rampi turns New Village House in Manase, Blantyre into a dance zone with the launch of his sophomore album Nyimbo on Saturday afternoon.

The musician, who has earned kudos for his hits Sikusinja ndi Gwenembe and Musakadye Nokha off his album Nyimbo, promised a different kind of launch.

The musician told The Nation yesterday that he has lined up Katelele Ching’oma, acoustic veteran Gides Chalamanda, Yasin Jenala, Matusa and Raston Kamwana for the CD and DVD launch.

Rampi said all the performers will be backed by Super Boys, the resident band at Sunbird Mount.

Rampi recorded his 10-track album at Ralph Records in Namiyango last year and he said he has decided to launch it this year due to the overwhelming response he has received.

“The response to my music has been overwhelming. Which is why I decided to launch both the CD and the DVD at the same time. I just want to urge music lovers to come to New Village House in their large numbers so as to experience a different kind of live performance,” he said.

Rampi introduced himself onto the music scene with his debut album Nd’zafe Nzawole which received a lukewarm reception on the music scene. He attributes this response to poor marketing on his part.

“I have learnt my lessons, which is why this time around I have taken my time. I took my time on these songs and I have loved composing them and I am hopeful that people will also love the songs and enjoy the message,” he said.

Rampi is an all-rounder, as, apart from music, he runs a Atland Painters and Decorators which produces paper necklaces.

He is currently employed by Sunbird Mount Soche in Blantyre as a painter and decorator having graduated with painting and decoration qualifications from Soche Technical College in Blantyre.
