Kinnah, Chimodzi out of Flames panel
Flames legends Kinnah Phiri and Young Chimodzi have been dropped from the technical panel released by the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) on Thursday ahead of the Africa Nations Championship qualifying play-offs.
The two were part of the interim Malawi National football Team technical panel that oversaw the last two 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers against Burundi and Burkina Faso as technical advisers.

But while newly-appointed coach Kallisto Pasuwa has maintained the bulk of the technical team, Kinnah and Chimodzi have been left out.
The other notable exclusion is team doctor Levison Mwale, who has been replaced by Michael Mwalule.
In an interview on Thursday, Kinnah said he would seek clarification from FAM president Fleetwood Haiya on their position.
“The president indicated that that we would continue, but if our names do not appear on the list, then we’ll have to seek clarification,” he said.
Pasuwa has also brought in his compatriot and former assistant coach at Bullets Michael Ngore, who will work alongside Tawonga Chimodzi.
Bullets and and Moyale Barracks coaches Peter ‘Mjojo’ Mponda and Pritchard Mwansa have been maintained as first and second assistant coaches, respectively.
Others that have been maintained are team manager James Chilapondwa, goalkeeper trainer Simplex Nthala, fitness trainer Peter Mgangira, physiotherapist Dextender Killi and and equipment manager Richard Justin.
