Malawi pool national team pre-tournament tough talk is yet to translate on the table as the All Africa Pool Association (Aapa) Championship hosts were as of Thursday afternoon yet to win in men and ladies’ categories.

At the tournament’s venue Robin’s Park, Malawi men team lost 19-6 to their Zambian counterparts giving the western neighbours bonus points going into their other matches.

The Malawi men and women’s sides lost their opening matches 17-8 to South Africa on Wednesday.

In other games, Lesotho fell 20-5 to Tanzania. More games continued as we went to press. The tournament ends today Saturday.

Malawi pool national team coach Ishad Omar, who was earlier optimistic about his charges, reserved his comment when approached at Robin’s Park on Thursday at 5pm.

Malawi Pool Association (Mapa) general secretary Saulos Thindwa is confident that Malawi will do wonders during the tournament.
