Miss Culture Malawi finale postponed to 2026

The Miss Culture Malawi Grand Finale event initially set for November 29 at Umodzi Park in Lilongwe has been postponed to March 1 next year, organisers have said.

According to a statement released by Miss Culture Malawi organising committee under Lush Africa Foundation, the postponement follows the scheduling of Miss Culture Global 2025 grand finale from December 7 to 14 in Monrovia, Liberia.

“As the national franchise holder, our focus in November and December will be on preparing for this event and supporting our Malawi Queen to represent the country with distinction on the global stage,” reads part of the statement.

The statement als

indicated that the organisers made the decision to ensure that the standards of the pageant are not compromised.

“The decision has been made after careful consideration to ensure continued excellence, integrity and quality that the Miss Culture Malawi has come to represent over the years,” the statement read.

In an interview, Lush Africa Foundation chief executive officer Lorraine Kljajic confirmed the development, adding that contestants have welcomed the change as it will give them more time to refine their performances and community projects.

“The contestants are okay with the change as it buys them more time to prepare their pet projects and perfect their walk,” she said.

Kljajic further said partners and sponsors have agreed to the new arrangement and assured those who bought tickets that they will remain valid for the rescheduled date.

The new date, according to the committee, will also help align the local pageant with the Miss Culture Global calendar and upcoming tourism initiatives.

Miss Culture Malawi 2024 Weshah Mwalamoyo will

represent the country at the global pageant while the next queen to be crowned in March, will compete at the 2026 global edition.

Miss Culture Malawi was established in 2021.
