Namadingo back with ‘Ya Symon’
Musician, Patience Namadingo drops his third album in October. The album has 15 tracks and its title is Ya Symon.
So far, Namadingo has dropped Vinyo which will be followed by another single Ng’wi Ng’wi on September 2.
“I have finalised 75 percent of my recordings for my third album. This will be a 15-track album recorded and produced under Elation Entertainment Southern Africa in four countries, mixed and mastered in Rand Park Ridge South Africa,” he said.
Namadingo said the second single after Vinyo taken off this album will drop on September 2 followed by Wayima which will drop mid-September.
The album also has four other featured artists including afro-folk musician, Bongeziwe Mabadlha “and might include the feature of the South African hottest Duo named Mafiki…watch the space,” said Namadingo.
While not divulging more information on the collaboration with the award-winning Mafikizolo, Namadingo said in an interview that fans should be on the lookout for his upcoming album.
He said: “Ya Symon is a 15 track album named in honour of my late father Symon Alfred Namadingo who passed in 2014. It is in his honour for he wrote a poetry book that never got published”
In the album, his third since breaking onto the music scene in 2007, the artist is telling stories of among others, life in this era.
“This album is 70 percent storytelling. I happen to write most of my music in storytelling style and this is an art I am mastering. This album has Africa, the Bible, and life in this day and age, told as stories to inspire others to write their own stories,” said Namadingo.
He said Ya Symon is different from all of his albums for he does not consider it a gospel record.
“About 25 percent of the entire album is gospel whilst the 75 percent is inspirational music,” said the musician.
Namadingo has two albums under his belt; Goseni released 2007 and Tiri ndi Yesu, plus an Extended Playlist titled The All New which came out about five years ago.
The news of the artist’s upcoming album has excited his fans. “I can imagine what will come out. I know the skills of Bongeziwe, this young man is equally talented. I can’t wait for the feature,” responded Shammah Mlenga to Namadingo’s post on Facebook
