Natasha auditions for Nollywood movie
Malawi Big Brother representative Natasha Tonthola joined scores of acting wannabes in auditioning for a movie role with one of the popular Ghanaian actors Majid Michel.
As part of AfricaMagic’s 10th anniversary, Multichoice Africa is running auditions in selected countries where one successful actor or actress will star in a movie with the heartthrob, to be shot at a Lagos location the first quarter of next year.
After a successful Blantyre auditioning last week, AfricaMagic filming crew stormed Lilongwe over the weekend where 110 aspiring actors and actresses auditioned.
According to MultiChoice, the name of the successful actor will be announced in December.
On her part, Natasha said her auditioning was inspired by the fact that she has always been an actress but lacked a platform.
“I have acted in church. However, the kind of acting I want is never done in Malawi. I want acting that will result in me being well known on the international stage like.
“Therefore, this opportunity creates a platform for Malawi’s breakthrough into international film acting. Only one person will make it, but that will make movie producers to think of coming to Malawi for scouting,” she said, adding that the auditions were tough and meant for those who were naturally born actors and actresses.
