Nigerian gospel musician Ada Ehi lights up Lilongwe
Nigerian gospel music star Ada Ehi on Saturday lit up Lilongwe with an unforgettable performance during the Favour Gospel Concert held at Bingu International Convention Centre.
The concert, organised by Malawian gospel singer Wendy Harawa, was the Nigerian artist’s first performance in Malawi.

The show kicked off with rising artist Lizzie Munthali warming up the stage with her latest songs.
She was followed by gospel group Kamuzu Barracks Gospel Singers who brought energy in the hall with hit songs, including Woyela ndinu, Patsogolo, Ukuchedwa and Simphamvu sinkhondo.
Singer Ray Franklin also delivered a strong performance, paving the way for Rudo Chakwera, who took the audience on a trip down memory lane with songs such as Anandifera and Mwana wamasiye.
Solo artist Theresa Phondo then stepped on stage and the energy in the room shifted. Fans rose to their feet and sang along her popular songs Daily, Blessings, Yebo and Testimony. She was later joined by Praise Umali and together they performed their new single Pray for Me.
Next was the host of the night, Wendy Harawa. Wearing gold and black, she took to the stage like a queen and kept the energy high with songs such as Favour, Ambuye ndionetseni and Mundisunge ndinu.
Paul Kachala was the final local act, wrapping up the Malawian performances with style.
By 12.30 am, Ada Ehi finally took to the stage and even at that late hour, the crowd’s energy remained strong. She performed a selection of her popular songs, including Cheta, I overcame, Only you Jesus and Congratulations.
In a special moment, Ada invited Theresa Phondo to join her on stage. She praised the Malawian artist, saying she is loved and recognised in Nigeria.
Later, Ada turned her set into a worship session, leading the audience in prayer and praise before ending her performance just after 2 am.
By the end of the night, it was clear the Congratulations hit maker had stolen the spotlight.
Speaking after the event, Wendy thanked fans for their support.
“I’m grateful to God for the full house tonight. Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this possible. We couldn’t have done it without you,” she said.
Wendy also announced that another concert is coming in October with another Nigerian gospel artist set to perform.
