Pilot error, poor oversight and defunct ELT blamed for plane crash
The final investigative report by German experts on the June 10 2024 military plane crash that killed Vice-President Saulos Chilima and eight others has attributed the accident to the aircraft’s collision with an ascending terrain.

The investigative report—by the German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation (BFU)—which has been published on its website, states that the flight crew operated in adverse weather conditions; hence, leading to the collision.
