Police seek public involvement on security

Listen to this article

Northern Region Police have called on the public to work with the police on issues of security to ensure a crime-free festive season.

Speaking at Christmas and New Year security preparatory meeting for community policing, Northern Region commissioner of police Paul Kanyama said police want to involve stakeholders in finding ways of flashing out criminals who take advantage of the festive season to terrorise communities. “We need your indulgence and support since the police has inadequate resources such as mobility, torches and fuel and other equipment to be used in our service delivery,” he said.

He said with the help of the public, the region recorded 80 percent crime reduction last year.
