Prophet gives Mchinji- based childcare centre K44 million
Prophet Milward Nyangulu of Synagogue Pentecostal Church has donated 400 bags of maize valued at K24 million and K20 million to Home of Hope Childcare Centre in Mchinji to support its operations.
In an interview on Sunday after the handover, Home of Hope Childcare Centre founder the Reverend John Chipeta described the donation as timely, noting that it will ease the centre’s financial pressure.
He stressed the need for Malawians to support each other during the festive season, instead of depending on donors.

“I am grateful to God for being remembered every year. My children celebrate the beautiful blessings every year,” said Chipeta.
On his part, Prophet Nyangulu’s son Milward Nyangulu Jnr, who represented his father, said the church upholds values of love and giving which compel it to support vulnerable children.
He cited Matthew 25 verse 40, which teaches that helping those in need is service to God.
Said Nyangulu: “The King will reply, I tell you, whenever you did this for one of the least important of these followers, you did for me.
“We all need to know, including all religious leaders in the country, that we always need to go beyond preaching the gospel by supporting the underprivileged for our gift is in heaven.”
Last year, Prophet Nyangulu also donated 300 bags of maize and K15 million to the same institution.
Home of Hope is where 17-year-old Thokozani Chisi scored 10 points in his 2025 Malawi School Certificate of Education examinations.
Established in 1998 in traditional Authority Nyoka in Mchinji District, Home of Hope provides care to more than 750 orphaned children.
The institution also provides primary and secondary education and runs a technical college where children learn tailoring, welding, carpentry entrepreneurship skills and other vocational courses to become self-reliant.
This is the centre where American pop star Madonna adopted David Banda in 2006.
