Speaking during the induction dinner, Mafuleka said his committee will continue pursuing the club’s goals to address health, education, water and sanitation and environment issues in the city.

He said: “We have done a lot in the past and the club is calling all members to imagine the impact we can make over and beyond what we have done.

“The club will continue with various projects which were started by my predecessor to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate.  We will also make sure that the membership should grow from 25 to more than 30, bringing diversity to serve society better.”

The outgoing president described his term of office as fulfilling.

Chirambo said: “We commenced and completed the project at Namiwawa Primary School where we fixed toilet facilities that have not been working for some time and currently we are about to complete the refurbishing of classrooms.

“The club also drilled five boreholes in Zomba to give people access to potable water. We are running a project where we will provide information and communications technology equipment to community day secondary schools across the country, among others.”
