Aberdeen Presbytery of Scotland, through the Saint Marks Church, donated K290 000 (US$783) to Mpachika CCAP congregation in Blantyre to buy maize for less privileged members of the church.

Mpachika CCAP Church contributed K10 000 (US$27) towards the cause.

The money was used to buy 40, 50kg bags of maize that was distributed to 150 people.

Moderator of Mpachika congregation Reverend Master Jumbe said beneficiaries were selected by 10 zonal leaders.

“When we received the money from Aberdeen, we decided to buy and distribute the maize knowing that a complete person is composed of the soul, spirit and the body.

“Apart from preaching the word of God, which is our main objective, we also have the mandate to look after the complete person; hence, this distribution of the maize to our less privileged members,” said Jumbe.
