Scouts assist Cyclone Freddy victims

Member of Scout Association of Malawi last week donated mosquito nets and soap to Cyclone Freddy survivors at Mpapa Primary School camp in Blantyre.

Speaking during the official handover of the items, the association’s chief commissioner Bexter Nthulula stated that the donation would aid in preventing various diseases at the camp.

He said: “We are planning to obtain the other items from our partners and well-wishers in order to provide assistance to the victims affected by the heavy rains that struck the southern part of the country.”

On his part, Peter Majamanda chairperson of the victims at the camp thanked Scout Association of Malawi for the timely support.

“The thoughtful contribution will go a long way in helping us stay protected and maintain hygiene amidst the challenging circumstances.
