Silver Strikers have retained former assistant coach Itaye Nundwe after a disciplinary committee cleared him of wrongdoing. But goalkeeper Amadu Ali has been transfer-listed.

The Bankers’ team manager Mike Tembo confirmed the development, saying Nundwe has since been redeployed as assistant team manager.

Nundwe was part of the previous coaching panel led by Franco Ndawa. He was one of the assistant coaches, alongside Hellings Mwakasungula.

“I can confirm that after the hearing, the disciplinary committee established that Itaye [Nundwe] was innocent and it was recommended that we should retain him.

“We, therefore, consulted the new coaching panel to consider accommodating him and he has since been redeployed as assistant team manager.

“This [development] should, therefore, give you a picture that the disciplinary hearing was not aimed at fault-finding. It was professionally handled,” said Tembo.

Nundwe was on the bench on Sunday when Silver hosted Red Lions in Lilongwe.

Tembo said Ali is on the verge of joining Blue Eagles who are yet to pay a K1.3 million (US$2, 754) transfer fee.

“They [Eagles] approached us expressing interest to sign him and we have made a K1.3 million offer, but they are yet to come back to us,” he said.
