Silver sell Khuda to South African club at K15m

It’s a done deal. Silver Strikers FC have sold their prolific marksman Khuda Muyaba at $20 000 (about K15 million) to South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) outfit Polokwane City.

The dead-eyed hitman’s four-year transfer deal was completed yesterday after undergoing assessment for barely two days.

Muyaba (R) has signed a four-year-deal

His signing came barely days after the Limpopo Province-based side took on board his compatriot Chembezi Dennis from Be Forward Wanderers, reportedly for R200 000 (about K10.4 million).

The Central Bankers’ acting general secretary Innocent Kadam’manja confirmed Muyaba’s deal yesterday.

“The deal is almost complete. He [Muyaba] has finalised personal terms with Polokwane and as a club, we have also agreed on the transfer fee.

“Khuda is expected back home today [yesterday] to complete police clearance before heading back to South Africa,” he said.

The development means Polokwane have pulled a fast one on a Portuguese club which wanted to sign the 2090 TNM Super League top-scorer and loan him to Mozambican Premier Mocambola League champions Costa Do Sol.

“We had to sell him to Polokwane because the Portuguese side did not effect payment after agreeing on the terms and, as such, we could not wait any longer.

“The South African club also doubled the Portuguse team’s offer to $20 000 and the player was also happy with personal terms,” said Kadam’manja.

The former Moyale Barracks hitman was not available for comment yesterday.

Muyaba swept all top scorer accolades last season, having also clinched Airtel Top 8 and Fisd Cup golden boot awards.

He also became the first player to score over 20 goals after 14 years in the TNM Super League.

Muyaba’s move brings the number of Malawian players in the PSL to seven. The others are Frank ‘Gabadinho’ Mhango (Orlando Pirates), Limbikani mzava (Highlands Park), Robert Ng’ambi (Black Leopards) and Baroka FC duo Gerald Phiri Jnr and Richard Mbulu. Another Malawian player Chawanangwa Kaonga was also recently signed by South Africa’s National First Division (NFD) side TS Sporting.
