Skeffa: It remains a miracle

Skeffa Chimoto, currently swimming in glory with his Chikondi album, will tomorrow give Lilongwe residents a free show to celebrate his life after he, together with his band, survived a serious road accident three years ago.

Speaking on the sidelines of a performance at the Chikhwawa Road entertainment hub, Club XL on Sunday, the Chinamuluma Chakuda hitmaker said the annual remembrance will be at Area 49’s Nkomachi School Ground.

Skeffa and his Real Sounds Band members spent time off the stage after the accident at Sharpe Valley in Ntcheu as they were travelling from Nkhotakota to Mwanza.

“That accident could have claimed our lives. To think that we survived remains a miracle. These shows are held to appreciate God’s love for us. It is also our way of thanking our fans for their support during the ending year,” said Chimoto.

The Sunday performance hitched off late and what was supposed to be an afternoon show ended up running late into the night.

Skeffa took patrons through a trek of his musical journey from the little known Wekha album, through Nabola Moyo to Chikondi.

His performance, spiced by curtain-raisers Leonald Mshanga and Dan Muyaya, left patrons on their dancing feet.
