The music part was done by the church collectively as they sang hymns while the church’s praise and worship team, Skeffa Chimoto and the visiting Mbayani Heaven Gates Choir performed in turns.

Chimoto and Mbayani Choir, being visiting artists at Mvama Church, were given more turns to perform and they did not disappoint. Despite the event’s status as a church service which demanding a certain level of orderliness, the congregants could not help but dance and demand for more from the two groups.

According to Chimoto, performing in the church is not new to him.

“This is my church and I am happy to perform here. Furthermore, if you look at my music, I sing about nothing contrary to God’s word. If I sing about love, I portray it in such a way that God expects us to,” said Chimoto.

According to Reverend Banda, the special service was done in order to raise funds for the church’s school.

He said the school is the church’s contribution towards education provision in the country for it is poised to be offering high quality education.

The school is expected to open this September. Through the fundraising event the church managed to raise about K8 million.n
