Smacks, Leslie collaborate on Kodo
Urban musician Smacks has featured Leslie in his latest song Kodo which celebrates love between a man and a woman.
In an interview on Saturday after dropping both an audio and video of the song, Smacks, born Samuel Kayira, said the project is part of his five-song extended playlist (EP) titled Smacks Diary meant to raise funds for the construction of his mother’s house.
He said: “The compilation is ready, but I thought it wise to give people a taste of what is to come by releasing Kodo. All songs are relatable and are around the theme of love that Malawians will enjoy.”
Smacks said he will be selling the EP at K2000 because he wants to raise funds and complete his mother’s house at Ekwendeni in Mzimba.
Reacting to the song on his Facebook page, one of his fans Johnny Busa expressed excitement, saying the song is lyrically mature and relatable.
The Undipweteka hit maker said he will release the EP next week.
Other songs in the project include Zolowe, After 8, Undibwenzere and a dedication to mothers titled Mama.
The EP has been produced by Jay Emm and F Kay with the Kodo video shot by VJ Ken.
