What would you be doing if you wanted to maximise your potential? Being motivated to stretch yourself and see what’s possible is one way to go. Here are some steps to start you off

Demonstrate passionate curiosity: Curiosity helps you learn, look at things in a way that sparks your interests and helps you improve. Curiosity generates eagerness to do more because you get to gain and understand new things and what interests you. It will help you see situations from all angles and have the confidence to go in the direction where you’ll have your greatest impact.

Shorten your learning curve: Don’t make your last day in school be the last time you actively learn from a book or other good information sources. Learn something new no matter how little every day. Access good ideas, information and examples of successful strategies others have used. Learning from others can give you a head-start, save you the pain and hustle of personally experiencing.

Put your time where your mouth is: The proverbial saying is to put your money where your mouth is. By all means do that but unless your do the same with ‘time’ you’ll probably end up broke all the same. Time is money. The best way to show how much you care about something is how much time you focus on it. If you are constantly failing to give adequate time to the things you say are important, then ask yourself whether you have your priorities right.

Have a possibility outlook: To maximise your potential you’ll need to be absolutely open to what’s possible not just tweaking on the fringes here and there. You can only accomplish more if you have a burning desire to do so. Don’t wait to feel brave to step up and do what it takes. It may make you feel vulnerable but worth it in the long run.

Now take action: Describe what your next level from where you are is. What will you do to get there?
