Super Leaguee-ticketing set to start

 TNM Super League sponsor TNM plc has announced commement of e-ticketing starting with two league matches this weekend.

TNM head of brand and marketing Madalitso Jonazi said in an interview yesterday the e-ticketing signifies the maturity of the game in the country.

He said: “This is just a start. We will be scaling up. As a sponsor we keep on innovating to enhance the experience of footbal l fanatics. This development will improve the game of football and safeguard its long-term viability.

“The int r oduc t ion of e – t i c keting underscores TNM’s commitment towards embracing innovation and leveraging technology to deliver supreme experiences to football enthusiasts.”

Jonazi said the e-ticketing innovation will help teams collect revenue conveniently.

“E-ticketing is multifaceted as it provides convenience for all football stakeholders in the management of cash. Football fans have an opportunity to purchase their tickets any time while on the other hand, league managers have total control of the match revenues,” he said.

Football fans will buy tickets for the Super League match between FCB Nyasa Bullets and Mighty Wakawaka Tigers at Kamuzu Stadium as well as Fomo FC and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers at Mulanje Park Stadium.

The tickets will be purchased on TNM plc’s Mpamba mobile money platform and using the Khadi Mbambande debit card.

Apart from safeguarding revenue, other advantages include real-time attendance tracking and prevention of fraudulent activities. E-ticketing, therefore, poses as a significant milestone in the evolution of football in Malawi, resonating with global standards of convenience and efficiency, according to Jonazi.

Super League of Malawi (Sulom) president Gilbert Mittawa said Sulom and TNM will continue working together to reform and rebrand the league.

He said: “We, therefore, appeal to all stakeholders to embrace it so that it becomes fully operational within a short period of time. We are hopeful that e-ticketing will help teams to get more revenue and also fans, as they can use the Mpamba card for many purposes including ATM withdrawals.”s.”

To purchase Mpamba Mbambande e-ticketing cards, customers have to use TNM Smart APP, under services, select Khadi Mambande or dial *444#, select 5, then follow menu prompts.

The football fans will collect their physical cards at any nearest TNM shop or at the stadium before the games kick off.

The development comes barely three weeks after a successful trial of the innovation during the Sapitwa Betika Top Four Bonanza in Mulanje
