Surestream vow to recover against Stone Bullets

Surestream Academy are looking forward to picking themselves up after last week’s humiliation when they host Stone Bullets tomorrow in a Peter Mutharika Southern Region Football League (SRFL) Division One match at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre from noon.

Surestream’s remarkable run was brought to a halt last weekend, when they suffered their first league (4-0) defeat at the hands of inspired Chinangwa Madrid.

The defeat came barely a few days after their mentor and technical director Peter Mponda left for England to attend a Level One course. Davis Sumani led Surestream’s destruction as he struck a hat-trick for Chinangwa while Edwin Chiwaula netted the other goal.

Surestream technical adviser Patricio Kulemeka said they had learnt their lessons from the first defeat.

“As we enjoyed a good run, we overlooked a crucial factor that other teams were studying us and we needed to adjust our game,” said Kulemeka.

Surestream still top the table with 40 points from 15 games. They have won 13 games and drawn once.

Blantyre ADD, who are second with 31 points from 16 games, take on Superiot at BAT ground from 12.30pm tomorrow. Last week, they beat Hiras 2-1.

Luchenza Tea Stars are third with 29 points from 16 games whereas Chez Ntemba anchor the table with no point from 12 games.

In other games slated for Sunday, Bvumbwe Reaserch Reserves host Northern Stars, Chinangwa Madrid take on Black Stars at Kamuzu Stadium (noon), Raise of Hope will face Chitakale at BAT ground while Naming’omba will host New Stars.
