Swift Courier rolls out digital tracking to curb fraud, boost service

Swift Courier has rolled out a new digital parcel processing system that allows customers to track and verify deliveries directly from their mobile phones.

Speaking in an interview, Swift Courier’s managing director, Cephas Mulauzi said the new system eliminates the need for physical receipts by generating and sending digital receipts automatically to both the sender and the receiver of a parcel.

Mulauzi: The new system is a tool in fight against fraud

“We’ve introduced a system where all parcel processes, including automatic receipt generation and notifications to sender and receiver, are done on the phone to replace the loophole-prone method of forwarding receipt photos,” he said.

Mulauzi emphasised that the new system is also a tool in the fight against fraud, particularly targeting online business transactions.

“We developed this system to protect customers, especially online sellers, from fraud involving fake receipts; each receipt now has a unique number to verify if a parcel was truly sent,” he said.

Among the key benefits of the new system are parcel tracking, enhanced verification, and reduced waiting time for customers at service points.

Thandiwe Banda, an online fashion entrepreneur in Blantyre, praised the system for its innovation and transparency.

She said: “This is a game changer where now I can track deliveries on my phone and receipts are sent automatically, saving time and adding credibility to my business.”

The Courier service operates in major cities across Malawi, with branches in Blantyre at Kristiwick Puma Filling Station, Zomba behind Bata, Lilongwe in Area 3 behind Masache Driving School, and Mzuzu opposite Gumede Hardware.
