The works of faith

One of the great provisions God has given to believers is the gift of faith. It is faith that enables us to operate in the class of God; hence, the Bible says without faith, it is impossible to please God.

However, faith on its own is not enough; it requires action for one to see results of what God has spoken.

In James 2:14, the Bible says: “What doeth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him?”

In verse 17 of the same chapter, the Bible puts it in a better way: “Even so faith, if it has no works is dead, being alone.”

The word of God teaches us in these two scriptures that the works of faith are the right actions you take based on what God has spoken to your life. This implies that if you want to see God performing what he has spoken, you should not just say that ‘I have faith’ but you act in accordance with what God has said. This also means that when you don’t act in faith, you assume you have faith, but you cannot see the results of God’s word in your life.

You need to understand that every time God speaks his word, he expects you to act on what he has spoken. If you don’t do anything about what you have heard from God, the word cannot bring out the intended outcome.

God is moved by those who act on what he has not done, but many people wait to see the results to believe in God.

In Mathew 18 v 18, Jesus revealed something significant concerning this principle: “Verily I say unto you, whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

What Jesus communicates in this verse is that man should approve everything that God has approved.

For instance, if God says you are healed, you are supposed to do a corresponding action in the natural for the healing to manifest in your body. Don’t focus on the pain, but fix your eyes on what God has declared.

Make a decision to act on every word God has spoken to your life and you will live a victorious Christian life.
