UK donates motorcycles for education PEAs
The United Kingdom has handed 14 motorcycles to the Ministry of Education to help ease mobility primary education advisers (PEAs) in 12 districts in the country.
Speaking on Wednesday in Lilongwe during the handover, British High Commission human development team leader and deputy development director Dan Pine said the motorcycles will help in the National Mathematics Curriculum Reform activities.

He said: “The motorcycles will assist through improved school supervision, teacher support, community engagement, delivery of teaching and learning materials and response to school emergencies, thereby contributing to improved education outcomes.”
Receiving the motorcycles, Ministry of Education director of quality assurance services Golden Msilimba thanked the UK Government for the assistance.
Todate, UK has supported the country with training of 28 000 Standard One and Two teachers, head teachers and PEAs in effective teaching of mathematics and printing and distribution of learners’ workbooks and teacher Guides for about 3 million children, according to the British High Commission.
