UP welcomes new members

Umodzi Party (UP) interim president professor John Chisi says his party will ensure that rural communities will be empowered through their chiefs.

Chisi said this on Sunday when he welcomed new members into the party in Limbe, whom he claimed ditched their parties to be part of UP.

“Two or three cannot walk together unless they discuss how they go together. We are discussing the dos and don’ts and expectations of the party. We needed to have time with them so that we know each other and that we should not only meet on the political podium,”

“We are discussing what members should expect from the party and vice versa,” said Chisi.

He said chiefs should organise development projects without imposing them on the people.

Members clad in UP blue and white colourS were advised that chiefs unless were empowered developmental projects could not take place effectively.
