Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have fired their technical panel barely a week after parting ways with their head coach Mark Harrison on mutual consent.

The affected members include assistant coach Albert Mpinganjira, goalkeeper trainer Simplex Nthala, team manager Foster Namwela and team doctor Levison Mwale.

Mpinganjira: Board will meet soon

Part of a letter addressed to one of the members, signed by the club’s acting chief executive officer Roosevelt Mpinganjira, reads: “In view of the fact that the 2023 footballing season is over and that you were on a month-to-month contract of employment from 1st day of January  2023, we would like to advise that your contract shall lapse by the 31st December 2023.

“We would like to thank you for the service and contribution you have made to this club for the past 2023 footballing season.”

Mpinganjira confirmed the development on Friday.

“Basically, it is the entire technical panel and the board will meet soon to determine the way forward as regards the vacancies created,” he said.

One of the affected technical members confirmed parting ways with the Lali Lubani Road outfit, saying they did not have contracts with the club.

He said: “The only members who had contracts were the head coach and physical trainer.

“We had been working without contracts until we took up the matter with the president Dr. Thomson Mpinganjira, who immediately directed that we should be offered contracts.

“But the timing proved to be a challenge because  the contracts were ready when were heading towards the end of the season and we, therefore, felt it was not necessary for us to sign.

“But having said that, we are thankful to the club president for having our welfare at heart.”

Meanwhile, Mpinganjira has said the club’s board has resolved to advertise the position of head coach.

The Nomads finished the season empty-handed despite Mpinganjira giving them a target to win the league and at least two cups.
