Singer Wendy Harawa through her Wendy Harawa Foundation, has partnered with US-based Remy Brown Foundation as she seeks to expand the scope of her charity initiatives.

As part of the partnership, the gospel musician has embarked on what she calls a charity tour which will see her visiting Nigeria, Kenya, Malawi and Zambia.

Harawa: Charity work complements my music

Speaking before departure yesterday, the songstress said her charity work complements her role as a gospel artist as it has given her a platform to reach out to many souls in many ways.

“God is love and the Bible clearly says blessed is the hand that giveth. As a born again Christian, my calling is to serve. God uses His people to bless others and I choose to be his vessel. These initiatives are one way of spreading the gospel,” she said.

Harawa said the partnerships that she has made has allowed her to reach out to people in other countries. She said her mission is to reach out to as many people as possible.

“We have students we are helping with fees. It is not easy but we are managing. It doesn’t require one to have a lot. We just have to spare the little we have. We are open to partner any stakeholder that may want to help in any way,” she said.

Under the Wendy Harawa Foundation, the artist has worked with almost five orphanages such as Temwani, Chilungamo, Adziwa Orphanages, Social Rehabilitation Centre and Maula Prison Women.

Remy Brown Foundation is run by its chief executive officer and founder Remy Brown.
