Zimbabwe lawyers for human rights are worried that continued arrests and reports of intimidation of perceived ZANU-PF detractors, will affect the outcome of the harmonised elections tomorrow [Wednesday].

The legal minds are also concerned that hours to go before polling centers open, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has yet to release the voters roll for the opposition as well as the public to check it’s correctness.

The lawyers also alleged that several eligible voters were closed out in a manner they allege could have been well calculated to disenfranchise a sector sectors of voters.

“We have recorded increased instances in which mobilisers, educators, human rights monitors and those providing critical legal support have been intentionally sought out for intimidation, harassment and attack,” reads a statement released today [Tuesday].

Roselyn Hanzi who read the statement insinuated a possibility of opposition and observers refusing to accept the results as true reflection of people’s wishes.
