Musician Zaithwa Mhone popularly known as Zonke has released a new single titled For Sale, a track that reflects on love and emotional boundaries.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Zonke said it was from emotional mistreatment.
“The song is about a person who is tired of being played on or cheated. I came to the conclusion that it is okay to be played, but at least I have to benefit. That’s why the title is For Sale. It is like saying I am not just dating anymore now, I am selling love,” he said.
The song lines go like this: “Koma dale anzako anali pompa ankangochulutsa ndale.
Kumabwera ndi njombaIwe wati ufuna ukhale Ukafuna kundikonda uzibwela ndi ma soda Mbalume zako zabodza osayesa kundikopa Palibe zongondiyuza mani
Ngati ukufuna chikondi ase panga zondipasa khusa mani.”
The artist said the title was chosen to reflect the story portrayed in the visuals.
In the video, a woman arrives at a market to buy vegetables, only to be persuaded to “buy” the artist as well.
“I had to choose a name that would fit the song story. As shown in the video, the woman comes to the market, and instead of just selling vegetables, I convince her she has to buy me also. I wanted it to be simple and short so people could relate easily,” he said.
The song’s hook is designed to leave listeners thinking rather than giving everything away immediately.
The track also features a second verse from fellow artist Acyne, whose contribution has been well received by listeners.
A fan, Hassan Mabwana gave his complement on the YouTube video, saying that the track did not disappoint.
