Football Association of Malawi (FAM) licensing and compliance manager Casper Jangale on Thursday said Blue Eagles, Ekwendeni Hammers, Mighty Tigers and rookies Sable Farming (South), Dedza Dynamos (Centre) and Rumphi United (North) were still hunting for funds as of on .

He said: “All the three newcomers have not yet paid along with the three other teams and perhaps it also provides us with a lesson on the need to prepare second-tier teams on club licensing so that when they are promoted, they are in the know.

“Nevertheless, all the six teams have assured us that they will pay between Thursday and today [Friday].

“So, let us wait and see, otherwise tomorrow [today] is about compilation of documents and submitting them to the First Instance Body (FIB). Once that is done, then that is it.”

He said clubs were given enough time and a six-day grace period.

“And if they can’t afford K3 million, then how are they going to fulfil financial demands that come with playing in the Super League?” wondered Jangale.

He said the FIB will meet tomorrow to go through the clubs’ licensing files and do the grading on whether or not they qualify to be granted licences.

Earlier this week, Dedza Dynamos general secretary (GS)Mavuto Mugode admitted that it was a gruelling process.

“Self-sponsored teams like ours will have a lot of problems.

“There are a lot of things to be done.”

On his part, Rumphi United GS ShadrickMsowoya said they were trying their best to raise the K3 million. “It’s something new for a team like ours, but we are running around to raise the money,” he said.
