43 professionals earn ABC’s first-ever MBA degrees
African Bible College (ABC) has graduated its first-ever cohort of Master of Business Administration (MBA) students, with 43 professionals receiving their degrees during a historic ceremony on Saturday, 23 August, at the college’s Lilongwe campus.
The graduation represents a landmark for the African Business Institute (ABI), ABC’s postgraduate arm, which recently introduced a rigorous MBA curriculum tailored to Malawi’s development and business needs.

The programme featured training in agribusiness, digital business, and financial management, grounded in Christian ethics.
Illovo Malawi Managing Director Ronald Ngiwra, who delivered the keynote address, praised the graduates for their perseverance and urged them to use their skills to help transform Malawi’s economy.
ABI co-founder Marcelo Viera described the day as “historic,” adding: “It’s such a joy and a humble moment for me to stand here and celebrate the very first MBA class in Malawi.”
ABC Vice President Dan Linzs highlighted the institution’s vision of producing leaders who integrate faith with professional practice.

“We want to see generations of Christ-like servant leaders, deeply rooted in God’s word, who embody compassion, pursue truth, and bring gospel transformation to every sphere of life and culture,” he said. “Too often, we separate ministry from business — we want them to bring ministry into business.”
Graduate Faith Chikukula reflected on the challenges of balancing work, family, and studies, but said the experience strengthened the class both personally and professionally.
The event was hailed as a pioneering step in Malawi’s higher education, bridging advanced business knowledge with faith-driven leadership, and equipping graduates to make a lasting impact both locally and globally.
