Sulom rejects Bullets’ request
Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has turned down FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ request to shift their TNM Super league match against Ekhaya FC tomorrow from Mpira Stadium in Blantyre to Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
The People’s Team protested the venue, arguing that Sulom did not consult them as their home ground is Kamuzu Stadium.

But according to the fixture, Kamuzu Stadium will host another league match between Mighty Wanderers—who also use it as their home ground— and Civil Service United of Lilongwe.
Altenatively, Bullets asked Sulom to shift the match from Sunday to Monday at Kamuzu Stadium.
But in an interview yesterday, Bullets acting chief executive officer Albert Chigoga said their request did not succeed.
He said: “Sulom insists that we should play the match as arranged. So, as a professional club, we are going to play at Mpira Stadium.
“The good thing is that Sulom is aware of our reservations.”
In their letter, Bullets argued that playing the match at Mpira Stadium would give the Cowboys an advantage since it is their training ground.
They also claimed that it poses a security threat as many spectators are expected to patronise the match.
Sulom general secretary Williams Banda could not be reached for comment yesterday.
Lately, there have been concerns from two of the three title contenders, Bullets and Wanderers, on issues relating to fixtures as the title chase heads towards the climax.
Earlier this week, Wanderers said they were concerned that their matches and those of fellow title contenders, were played on different days.
On the other hand, Bullets said they were not amused that they played four consecutive away matches while their rivals, Wanderers, will play five consecutive games at home.
The Nomads top the table with 62 points from 27 games, Bullets are second with 59 points from the same number of matches while reigning champions Silver Strikers are third with 56 points, having played a game less.
