Airtel, Total Malawi launch partnership agreement

Total Malawi and Airtel Malawi on Thursday launched a partnership agreement in which the mobile phone network operator will be trading Airtel Money services using Total Malawi’s network.

The agreement was launched by Aitel Malawi managing director Saulos Chilima and his counterpart at Total Michel Malatino at Kambuku Filling Station in Lilongwe.

“This is not the first time for Airtel to work with Total. In fact on the global level we are already partners. Locally we also purchase our fuel from Total service stations. This launch today is an extension of our partnership,” said Chilima after the two firms signed the agreement papers.

Chilima  who was accompanied by his legal team led by Hlupikire Phiri has since urged Airtel customers to patronize Total Malawi service stations for easy.

“We at Airtel believe that this integration with Total Malawi will change people’s lives for the better as both of our customers will be able to access our services with ease.

Through this partnership our customers will be able to pay for fuel using Airtel Money at any Total filling stations.

In addition customers will be able to visit any Total Filling Station to load money on their phones, cash out and register as an Airtel Money customer.

Chilima said through the  partnership will create synergies for both companies with regards to a wider geographical foot print, better security and improved service. All these will translate into an even better customer experience for both of Airtel and Total customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Through this agreement Airtel Malawi will be trading on Total Malawi’s 55 service stations across the country when on the road for easy transaction.

“We are happy to partner with Airtel now our customers can be able to buy fuel or any services at Total Filling station using airtel money.

This is a nice partnership and will contribute greatly to the economy.  It is a very convenient way of transacting business. We looking forward to the positive business growth through this partnership,” said Malatino.
