Bring your dancing shoes – Kwesta

South African rapper, Kwesta has arrived in the country ahead of a performance at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe on Friday. 

The show, dubbed the Winter White Party is a 35th anniversary celebration for Entertainers Promotions (EP). 

In an interview upon arrival at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA), the award winning musician said he is excited to be in Malawi for the first time. 

“It feels great to be here. I can’t wait to meet the people as well as other artists. I have prepared a great show I think one of the best ones. Be prepared to enjoy as I am here to share the energy. Just bring your dancing shoes,” he said. 

Real name Senzo Mfundo Vilakazi, the artist said he is also looking forward to collaborating with local artists. 

“While I am here, I am planning to listen to Malawian music and given a chance, I wanna go to the studio with some of the artists. I am here to also learn,” he said. 

Kwesta is set to perform with a full live band which has accompanied him from South Africa. 

He will share the stage with a number local artists including Lucius Banda and Piksy. 

In a separate interview, EP director Tonderai Banda said all is set for the show on Friday. 

“We have been in Lilongwe for one week just to make sure that we set everything on time. That is the more reason why Kwesta is also arriving two days earlier,” explained Banda. 

Chibuku Products Limited is one of the sponsors  of the gig as it has donated K1.9 million to EP for buying of air tickets for Kwesta and his team.
