Kwesta jets in today

South Africa’s rap music sensational Kwesta arrives in the country today through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) ahead of his anticipated performance on Friday.

The star, who is expected to perform with a full live band which will accompany him from SA will be the headline act for Entertainers Promotions (EP) 30th anniversary celebrations slated for Friday in Lilongwe at Bingu International Convention Centre (Bicc).

Speaking from South Africa yesterday, the artist’s road Manager Masilo Makgato said Malawians should expect to have an enjoyable and wonderful time with their favourite music star.

“Apart from sharing the good music, to us this is also an opportunity to learn about Malawi’s culture. Everyone on the team is excited to be in Malawi for the coming days. There will be more energy on stage which we believe will be transferred to the Malawians.

Over the weekend Chibuku Products Limited (CPL) made a donation of K1.9 million to EP towards the acquisition of air tickets for Kwesta and his team.

Business development and corporate affairs manager for CPL Gloria Zimba said they are aware that Kwesta’s coming has attracted the attention of a lot youths in the country which also forms part of their market audience hence their decision to assist.

Zimba said: “We are a Malawian company through and through and we are always duty bound to support the dreams and aspirations of all Malawians.”

EP director Tonderai Banda in an interview said all preparations as regards the staging of the event, dubbed as the Winter White Party, are on course and has promised Malawians to brace for a memorable time.

Apart from Malawi, the South African has also performed in other countries in the region such as Kenya, Senegal, Zambia, Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho, Mozambique and Namibia.
