Big Bullets wind up their TNM Super League fixtures this afternoon with a potentially tricky fixture against Epac at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe aiming to finish on seventh position.

Bullets are currently on unenviable eighth position with 40 points and a win this afternoon will see them dislodge Red Lions on seventh position.

This means Bullets will not earn automatic participation in the Standard Bank Knockout Cup as they will not finish among the top six.

It will also be a farewell game for the People’s Team technical director Eddingtone Ng’onamo who announced earlier in the week that he would step down at the end of the season.

One of Bullets’ senior players, James Chilapondwa, said: “It has not been a good season for us because as a big team we are expected to fight for the top three slots.

“There were a number of factors that came into play, but nevertheless, we are hoping to finish on a good note in order to give our fans in Lilongwe a timely festive season gift,” said Chilapondwa.

Epac’s marksman Ishmail Thindwa, who is the current leading scorer with 15 goals, said they are set for the match.

“Of course, the priority is that we should win the game, but as an individual I am also looking forward to seal the Golden Boot award by scoring,” said the lanky forward.

Red Lions’ Kumbukani Mwambene is second with 12 goals, but is out of contention as the Zomba-based soldiers have finished their games.
