FCB Nyasa Bullets coach Kalisto Pasuwa believes he has enough arsenal to beat Blue Eagles this afternoon at Kamuzu Stadium and dislodge Silver Strikers from the TNM Super League summit.

Currently, the People’s Team lie second on the log table with 22 points from 11 games, three points behind the Central Bankers. However, both are tied on a 15-goal difference.

Pasuwa explained that although Bullets have contributed four players to the Flames squad which is in South Africa for the Cosafa Cup, he believes his team can bag maximum points this afternoon.

Bullets have dropped four points in their last two league games following successive goalless draws against rivals Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Kamuzu Barracks (KB).

“We know it will not be an easy task, but it is a must for us to win this game. We cannot continue to drop points,” he said.

On the other hand, Eag les, who before yesterday’s fixtures were eighth on the log with 15 points, are also determined to recover from a 1-0 loss to Ekwendeni Hammers.

Eagles assistant coach Christopher Sibale yesterday said they are also eyeing victory this afternoon.

“We are not going to Blantyre as tourists, but as a team geared to recover after a defeat. Of course, Bullets are a hard nut to crack, but our determination outweighs the challenges along the way,” he said.

Bullets will miss the services of their leading scorer Lanjesi Nkhoma, mid fiel der s Pat r ick Mwaungulu and Frank Willard and defender Alick Lungu, who are with the Flames.

Eagles will be without defender McDonald Lameck and shot-stopper Brighton Munthali, who are also on national team duty. Munthali has just been loaned out to South Africa Premiership side Black Leopards.

In their last six meetings, Bullets have won twice while Eagles have one win. The rest of the matches ended in draws.

In other matches this afternoon, Karonga United host Salima Sugar Dedza Dynamos while Civil Service United will be at home against Ekwendeni.
