Bullets replicas on high demand

Nyasa Big Bullets have reposted high demand for their latest Adidas replica jerseys’ consignment with over half of the 2 000 shirts sold.

The People’s Team replicas are selling at K15 000 each and according to the club’s chief administration officer Albert Chigoga, they are expecting the stock to sell out.

He said: “We ordered slightly over 2 000 replica jerseys and we expect to make about K30 million.”

Bullets’ performance has led to a surge in replica sales

Chigoga attributed the high demand to the team’s current impressive performance.

He said: “When the team is doing well, supporters respond positively to such initiatives.

“We are doing well in the TNM Super League, we also did well at the Cecafa Kagame Club Championship where we reached the finals and just last week, we beat AmaZulu away in the CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg and obviously that has boosted the sales.”

Chigoga said they expect the sales to rise if Bullets qualify for the first-round of the continental showpiece.

He also said previously, similar initiatives failed to gain ground due to poor strategy.

The consignment comprises red replicas for home matches and white ones for away games.

Chigoga said in Blantyre, the replicas are being sold at the club’s offices, Nyasa Manufacturing Company offices and Impala pub at Kamba.

“In other areas, we send once we get an order and payment is made. We have agents in all the regions,” he said.

Football marketing consultant Felix Ngamanya Sapao also said it is not surprising that Bullets replicas are on demand.

He said: “When a team is winning, it gives confidence to its fans to invest in the club.

“They are about to retain the league title, they did well at the Cecafa Kagame Cup and they are 90 minutes away from qualifying for the second preliminary round of the Champions League.”
