CCL launches Wednesday Palm Night

Management of Country Club Limbe (CCL) has introduced Wednesday Palm Night evenings to provide businesses and organisations an affordable way to promote their products, services and activities to club members.

The businesses and organisations comprise bankers, lawyers, politicians, businesspeople and leaders of industry and society in general.

According to the club’s manager Deon Orberholzer, the format is an evening starting around 6pm at the bar where drinks and a hot buffet will be on offer, including the special dish of the week.

“While guests relax and exchange business intelligence over a drink, raffle tickets will be on sale at K100 each.  Guests normally purchase a dozen or so of these tickets,” he said.

Orberholzer also said at approximately 8pm, the raffle itself will begin and tickets will be drawn for 18 prizes.

“During the draw, the host will repeatedly mention the sponsor’s name and business activities to the guests over a public address system.

Immediately after the raffle draw, a live music performance will start and the festivities will continue until the last man down,” he said.

Said Orberholzer: “Sponsors will be required to provide prizes or donate money amounting to K50 000 or more; the more glamorous the prizes, the more the excitement generated.

“However, the main source of enjoyment will be winning a prize, whatever it is.

“Any promotional material the sponsor will provide will be displayed prominently during the evening.”

CCL is in a process of actively promoting its Club Nights and will soon be extending it to the Dog Box [golf section].

A further development will be on Friday nights when a happy hour and special music and food evenings will be on offer.
