Chakwera arrives in Botswana
President Lazarus Chakwera, who is also Southern African Development Community (Sadc) chairperson, on Sunday left for Botswana where he is expected to visit the Sadc Secretariat.
Chakwera was welcomed at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport in Gaborone by Botswana Minister of International Affairs Dr. Lemogang Kwape and Sadc executive secretary Elias Magosi, among other dignitaries.
According to a press statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the President is expected to meet Sadc Secretariat staff on the priorities of the organisation and overall status of regional integration agenda in the bloc.
On Tuesday, the President will pay a courtesy call on President of Botswana Dr. Mokgweetsi Masisi before returning back home on Wednesday.
