Coach says Scorchers’ itinerary change won’t have impact
Scorchers coach Lovemore Fazili has said the change in the team’s travel itinerary to Zambia for friendly matches will not have an impact on the team’s performance.
Initially, the entire Malawi National women’s Football Team squad was expected to fly out to Lusaka yesterday before the association announced on Monday that they would travel in three groups.

The first group flew to Lusaka yesterday, the second batch is scheduled to depart today while the last group will leave tomorrow.
Said the coach: “It’s not a big deal. The most important thing is that we have a full squad. All the players we called into camp are available. We are looking forward to the two matches.”
Football Assocition of Malawi (FAM) attributed Scorchers’ change of itinerary to lack of space on the Lusaka route.
In a statement, FAM said: “There has been a change in the flight itinerary due to lack of space on the Lusaka route.
“The team will now depart in three groups as follows: Five players and two officials will leave on Tuesday.
“Eleven players and three officials will leave on Wednesday. Three players and six officials will leave on Thursday.”
The Scorchers face the hosts this Saturday while the second match is set for next Tuesday at Woodlands Stadium.
Europe-based players Tabitha Chawinga, Rose Kabzere, Vanessa Chikupira and Bernadette Mkandawire will join the squad in Zambia today.
USA-based forward Temwa Chawinga joined the squad on Monday while Democratic Republic of Congo-based duo of Sabina Thom and Chimwemwe Madise joined camp on Friday in Blantyre.
