Coaches body welcomes Harrison
National Football Coaches Association (NFCA) has officially welcomed Mighty Mukuru Wanderers expatriate coach Mark Harrison into their fold.
The Briton is now the third foreign coach to become NFCA member after Nyasa Bullets mentor Zimbabwean Kallisto Pasuwa and former Silver Strikers trainer Dan Kabwe from Zambia did the same in June last year.
During the welcoming ceremony at Wanderers Club in Blantyre yesterday, NFCA chairperson Aubrey Nankhuni said they believe Harrison will contribute to the development of the game in the country and that there is a lot that local coaches can learn from him.
“This coach has a vast experience after working in various countries. Local coaches can learn a lot from him,” he said.
“By being our member, Harrison will also be able to work comfortably in the country and get our support when he faces challenges in his job.”
Nankhuni, who was accompanied by Football Association of Malawi (FAM) technical director Benjamin Kumwenda and Southern Region football coaches chairperson Abel Mkandawire, said that they are keen to involve Harrisson in their imminent coaching clinics across the country.
Harrison said he was happy to be welcomed by the local coaches’ body.
The Wanderers coach said: “I have worked in a number of countries in Africa, but this is the first time I have been welcomed by a coaches’ body. Let us work together to improve the game of football.”
Since he became Wanderers coach a few months ago, Harrison has helped the Lali Lubani Road outfit win the 2022 Airtel Top 8 Tournament.
