CTS CEO urges Scorchers to turn Wafcon success into World Cup glory
CTS Courier and CTS Funeral Services managing director Jacqueline Bokosi Kilmer has congratulated the Malawi Women’s National Football Team, the Scorchers, on their historic 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (Wafcon) campaign.
Kilmer said the team had made Malawians proud and urged the players to remain focused as they prepare for the 2027 Fifa Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

“As a woman, I am very happy. You have made Malawi proud. Remain strong and keep going,” she said.
She said the support the team received from government and other well-wishers was also encouraging, particularly the presence of Minister of Youth and Sports Alfred Gangata and Blantyre City Mayor Isaac Jomo Osman, among others, who travelled to Morocco to support the team.
Kilmer said such support demonstrated that the country was behind the players and should motivate them to work even harder as they prepare for the World Cup.
She also urged the players not to be distracted by negative social media comments, but to use criticism as motivation to work harder.

She singled out goalkeeper Mercy Sikelo, encouraging her not to lose focus because of criticism.
“Mercy should not lose focus because of negative comments on social media. Let them make you work harder. Reaching the World Cup is not easy,” she said.

She further said the Scorchers should now turn their attention to Brazil, where they will face the world’s best.
“Keep your eyes on the World Cup. What you have achieved is historic, but there is more to come,” she said.

She congratulated the players and technical team for their achievement and urged them to remain united, disciplined and determined as they prepare for the global tournament.
“Do not focus on the negative comments. Look forward, work harder and focus on the World Cup,” Kilmer said.
